EL METRO DE LA DECADENCIA ⏃ THE TRAIN OF DECADENCE

Después de largos años de espera, el metro de la capital ha sido inaugurado. El alcalde de la ciudad da la apertura oficial de las diez primeras estaciones subterráneas, los transeúntes deciden guardar sus aparatos tecnológicos y unirse al enorme grupo de ciudadanos que ingresan con emoción al ser los primeros en usar el nuevo sistema de transporte.

Una vez han ingresado a las estaciones subterráneas, les es informado que el tren tiene unos minutos de retraso, por lo que deben esperar con calma. El alcalde les pide tomar distancia y formar filas organizadamente. Durante el tiempo de espera, los encargados del sistema dan paso a un sinnúmero de ciudadanos más hasta no tener espacio para moverse entre ellos. El orden de las filas se ha perdido entre la multitud y cientos de personas comienzan a caer desenfrenadamente a los rieles.

Segundos luego, los funcionarios cierran las puertas de las estaciones con cadenas, los trenes se escuchan pasar a alta velocidad; el fuerte clamor del público indica que han sido arrollados. Tratan de abrir las puertas, pero les es imposible.

Los habitantes que se encuentran fuera de las estaciones, se acercan confundidos a las puertas a tomar fotos de las personas que estiran sus brazos entre las rejas intentando escapar. El alcalde se retira en su helicóptero junto a los demás políticos. Minutos más tarde, una gran explosión aturde a los habitantes de la ciudad. Los políticos observan desde lo alto una enorme parte de la ciudad consumirse en llamas y hundirse entre las líneas subterráneas del metro.

Informan en las noticias internacionales el siniestro acontecimiento e indican que la población de la ciudad se ha reducido a la mitad debido a las explosiones que causaron los trenes subterráneos. El alcalde sonríe con satisfacción mientras observa una maqueta de una nueva capital cubierta en cemento sin espacios naturales.

After long years of waiting, the subway of the capital has been inaugurated. The mayor of the city gives the official opening of the first ten underground stations, passers-by decide to keep their technological devices and join the huge group of citizens who enter with excitement to be the first to use the new transportation system.

Once they have entered to the underground stations, they are informed that the train is a few minutes late, so they must wait calmly. The mayor asks them to take distance and to form organized lines. During the waiting period, those in charge of the system give way to other countless citizens until they have no space to move between them. The order of the lines has been lost among the crowd and hundreds of people begin to fall wildly to the rails.

Seconds later, the officials close the doors of the stations with chains. The trains are heard passing at high speed; the loud clamor of the public indicates that they have been hit by the train. They try to open the doors, but it is impossible for them.

The inhabitants who are outside the stations, come confused at the doors to take pictures of people who stretch their arms between the bars trying to escape. The mayor leaves in his helicopter with the other politicians. Minutes later, a large explosion stuns the inhabitants of the city. Politicians watch from above a huge part of the city burn out and sink between the underground lines of the subway.

They report the sinister event in the international news and indicate that the population of the city has been cut in half due to the explosions caused by the underground trains. The mayor smiles with satisfaction as he watches a model of a new capital covered in cement without natural spaces.
